10 Maoists killed

The army and police shot dead ten Maoists in operations nation-wide Thursday and Friday, the Defence Ministry and police said. The army shot dead three top district rebels at Jamiya in Tanahu Friday morning, the Ministry said.

Rajan Sigdel alias Pratap, area committee member Keshab Gauli alias Pradip and Gyan Chandra Dhakal alias Prabin were killed in the encounter. Three rebels were killed in Surkhet Thursday, the Ministry confirmed.

The army shot dead two insurgents in Humla and one identified as Krishna Prasad Pandey in Jumla Thursday, officials said. Police shot dead area commander Kailash Chamar of Pipariya in Rautahat Thursday, police said.
